Define the product requirement first

Tell us the commodity, packing, quantity and the temperature conditions specified by the product owner. Include any ventilation, humidity or other cargo-specific instructions that must be reviewed. A generic request for a refrigerated container is not enough to establish the correct shipment plan.

The quoted service identifies the agreed equipment, route and handling scope. Pre-trip inspection, container release, power arrangements and any requested monitoring or reporting need to be confirmed with the relevant operating parties.

Look beyond the sea leg

A reefer movement can include collection, loading, terminal handover, ocean transport and final delivery. We review where responsibility changes and which temperature-related arrangements are required at each stage.

Tell us if cargo will be held before loading or after discharge. Storage and transfer requirements are assessed separately; a general warehouse enquiry does not automatically provide temperature-controlled storage.

Build the enquiry around the actual cargo

• Commodity and the product owner’s transport instructions
• Required temperature settings and any other approved conditions
• Packing, pallet dimensions, gross weight and cargo-ready date
• Origin, destination and collection or delivery locations
• Requested monitoring, records and special handling arrangements

A quotation with a defined scope

Ask for the quotation to distinguish freight and container transport from power, monitoring, storage, inspection and handling charges where relevant. Equipment availability and product acceptance are confirmed before booking.
